There is something about summer that makes us dress a little differently.

Maybe it is the longer days, the trips we spend months looking forward to, or simply the feeling that life becomes a little less structured once the sun is out. We reach for brighter colors. We become more willing to wear something playful. And places like the beach, pool, lake, or resort suddenly feel like exactly the right setting to show a little more personality.

That spirit has always felt perfectly suited to Hreski board shorts.

We have never thought summer clothing needed to disappear into a sea of navy, black, and predictable tropical prints. If anything, summer is one of the best times to wear something that feels alive.

And with plenty of warm-weather days still ahead, we thought it was worth taking another look at a collection that has brought some of Hreski’s most colorful designs beyond the golf course and into the water.

Board Shorts That Actually Feel Like Summer

A good pair of board shorts needs to do something deceptively simple: be comfortable enough that you barely think about what you are wearing.

You might swim in them, walk along the beach, sit by the pool, head out on a boat, stop somewhere for lunch, or spend an entire afternoon moving between all of the above. Summer plans have a habit of changing as the day goes along, so clothing that can move with those plans makes life easier.

Hreski board shorts were designed with that kind of versatility in mind.

Current styles feature an approximately 8-inch inseam, a breathable inner mesh lining, and an adaptive flex waistband that can stretch by roughly two to three inches. Two deep front pockets provide practical storage, while a back pocket with a built-in key holder adds a small but useful detail for days spent around the water. They are also designed to fit true to size.

But function was only half of the idea.

The other half was making board shorts that actually looked like something you would be excited to wear.

The current collection includes 12 designs, ranging from tropical florals and palm trees to abstract artwork, stripes, patriotic imagery, and some unmistakably Hreski prints.

Take Radiant Neon Feathers – Hreski 179. The design brings together vivid pinks, blues, greens, and yellows in an energetic feather pattern. There is almost a sense of movement to it – the kind of design that naturally feels at home somewhere sunny, whether that happens to be beside a pool or overlooking the ocean.

Then there is Pink Palm Trees – Hreski 143, with violet-purple palms scattered across a bright pink background. It is unapologetically tropical without relying on the usual version of a tropical print. The colors give it a playful, vacation-ready personality that would be difficult to achieve with a plain pair of swim shorts.

For something with a completely different attitude, Skulls and Roses – Hreski 108 mixes roses with detailed skulls, butterflies, hearts and other unexpected elements. It has more edge than a traditional beach print, but that is precisely what makes it interesting. It is a reminder that summer style does not always have to mean palm trees and sunsets.

And that variety continues throughout the collection: Blue Crossing Brushstrokes on Pink Canvas, Red Hibiscus Flowers on Blue Palm Leaves, American Eagles, Toucans and Flamingos, Multi-Color Stripes, Tropical Fruits, Water Waves, Abstract Disco, and Blue Bubbles. Each takes the same basic idea in a completely different direction.

That variety matters because personal style does not stop when you leave the golf course.

Someone who gravitates toward expressive golf clothing probably does not suddenly lose that personality when heading to the beach. And even someone who normally wears mostly solid colors might find that swimwear is one of the easiest places to experiment.

There is less pressure to coordinate everything perfectly. A colorful pair of board shorts can simply be worn with a white, black, navy, or other solid-colored shirt. The pattern does most of the work.

In that sense, board shorts can be an easy introduction to bolder style.

You do not have to completely change the way you dress. You do not need every item in the outfit to make a statement. Sometimes one interesting piece is enough.

A design like Water Waves – Hreski 124, for example, can bring color and movement to an otherwise simple summer outfit. Blue Crossing Brushstrokes on Pink Canvas – Hreski 187 takes another approach, combining a soft pink base with crossing blue strokes that give the design an almost painted quality. One feels fluid; the other more artistic. Both show how much personality can come from a single piece of clothing.

And perhaps that is why summer and expressive clothing work so well together.

Summer is rarely about perfection.

It is about being outside longer than you planned. It is about spontaneous trips, afternoons that turn into evenings, vacations, cookouts, pools, beaches, boats and those stretches of the year when everyday routines loosen just a little.

Your clothes can reflect some of that.

They can be brighter. More relaxed. A little unexpected.

They can be fun.

The Final Run of Our Board Shorts

There is also something we want to be transparent about.

As Hreski continues to evolve and focus on other parts of our collection, we have decided to close the chapter on our board shorts. Once individual designs or sizes of our board shorts sell out, we do not plan to restock them.

We do not look at that as something negative.

Products, collections and ideas naturally change as a brand grows. Some remain for years. Others belong to a particular moment. Our board shorts have been a fun extension of what Hreski has always been about: taking familiar clothing and giving it more personality.

So rather than simply allowing the collection to quietly disappear, we wanted to recognize it.

These designs took some of the patterns and colors that look at home on a fairway and gave them an entirely different setting – beside blue water, under a summer sky, on vacation, at the pool, or wherever a warm day happens to lead.

And there is still plenty of summer left to enjoy them.

If you already have a favorite pair, this might be the summer to pull them out again. If you have always worn solid swim shorts, perhaps this is the season to try something that would not normally make it into your wardrobe.

Not because everyone needs to dress boldly.

Not because plain colors have suddenly become boring.

But because sometimes the right setting gives us permission to wear something a little different – and summer happens to be very good at that.

Style should ultimately make you feel comfortable being yourself. For some people, that means keeping things clean and understated. For others, it means neon feathers, pink palm trees, tropical birds, abstract artwork, skulls and roses, or crashing waves.

There is room for all of it.

Summer does not last forever. Maybe that is part of what makes these board shorts worth enjoying while they are here.
